open to great possibility

By now I usually have the tree(s) up and decorated to the hilt, the mantel awash in snowmen and vintage books, silver bowls piled high with pale pink bulbs, and the banisters wrapped with garland and twinkling lights. This year...

nothing...

yet...

I didn't plan to be here this Christmas; our plan was to be snugly dug in at River House, surrounded by bare trees, spending evenings by the fire, watching the night fall across the Blue.  So, even though I fortuitously held back stubbornly refused to pack away the Christmas decorations, I'm just not mentally prepared to get them out here. Because, you know...we're moving...

someday...

soon...

we hope...

Of course our house still hasn't sold, but this is the season of hope, right? So I'm hopeful we'll be moving soon...

although, the reality is...

:::interject dramatic sigh:::

it won't be before Christmas.

So...

I guess it's time to haul out the holly...

because...

I need a little Christmas...

right this very minute!

Do you? Let's do! Here we go...

May your walls know joy, may every room hold laughter,
and every window open to great possibility.
