adorn yourself accordingly

Do you have a favorite outfit, or a go-to article of clothing that you reach for whenever you don't have the time or energy to think about what to wear? You know, something you can dress up or down as needed, something that always feels and looks great, and always right...

Can you imagine wearing that article of clothing every day, day in/day out and just changing it up with accessories and layering pieces? For 365 days in a row?

That's what The Uniform Project  is all about: 1 little black dress (actually 7 identical dresses), worn 365 days in a row. Accessories/additions are thrifted, gifted, donated. Why? As personal creative challenge, and a statement about sustainability in fashion, but with a twist:

"The Uniform Project is also a year-long fundraiser for the Akanksha Foundation, a grassroots movement that is revolutionizing education in India. At the end of the year, all contributions will go toward Akanksha’s School Project to fund [what else?] uniforms and other educational expenses for children living in Indian slums."  *Note: They've raised $42,706 and helped 118 kids go to school since they started in May '09*

As someone who deeply enjoys the challenge of traveling - even overseas, even for 2 weeks at a time - with only a carry-on bag, I LOVE this idea. Could I pull it off, if not for a year, then for a month? I don't know.

Could you? Would you even consider it?
