the difficulty

The internet can be a dangerous place. Besides all the wackos and child molesters and terrorists, there are the design bloggers you have to watch out for- and in my case, they're the most dangerous of all. Maybe it's just me...Maybe you lot don't have this problem. But for me, every stroll through the design blogs on my reading list concludes with me looking around my (lovely, fabulous, comfortable, inviting, warm, happy) house and thinking, "I want to change this (or that - or this AND that.)


WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? Am I really never content? Am I that uncertain of my own tastes, likes/dislikes? Am I that easily swayed? (Yes to the last, apparently.)


Maybe it's just that I'm easily pleased, that I like to try new things, that I'm open-minded. 


Here's the latest batch of photos, all gleaned from one amazing tumblr: Chutzpah. 10 minutes in and I'm ready to re-do the whole house. 

Ok, so I could do without the guy in his underwear...

& the giant astroturf cross in the middle of the floor isn't my thing...

But now I'm itching to make the wall above my desk a giant inspiration board...

or maybe just hang a few pictures, in a grid...

Maybe I should take the runner off my table...

Are my color choices too safe?

No,  I've changed my mind- ALL the pictures should go up!

Wait...maybe I don't want more...maybe I want LESS?!

Are my throw pillows too matchy-matchy? Are my dogs too little?

Too big?

Perhaps I'm too fussy about keeping everything tidy.

Or maybe I'm not tidy enough?

I don't have a little girl. Wonder if my grown girl would like it if I decorated "her" room at my house this way?

My chairs all match. They probably shouldn't.

This room just makes me smile. Maybe I need  a more thrift-store chic look?

Then again, this simple, well edited room is so soothing...

don't you love a cushioned seat

My living room is sorely lacking in the throw cushion department. Actually, it's not that I don't have cushions, it's just that I'm not thrilled with the ones I do have. At least I'm not thrilled with them in my living room.

So I'm on the hunt. 

How do you like your throw pillows? Matching pairs, carefully coordinated, lined up just so? One-of-a-kinds, tossed casually here and there? Perhaps you're a purist, preferring your soft furnishings naked? 

Show me your favorite looks, will you, thank you, please?
