so pleasant an effect

There is no better season than this. Chilly nights, sunny days, every branch aflame. The dogs run races though the leaves that carpet the ground, and the bluejay grows fatter by the day, chasing the other birds away from the feeders.

There is no season when such pleasant and sunny spots may be lighted on,
and produce so pleasant an effect on the feelings, as now in October.
- Nathaniel Hawthorne

Your photos, as always, are almost as beautiful as your words. Karin/lifeinsmallchunks.blogspot.com
