hearts grow tender

I had such a hard time editing my decorations this year; I'm a more-is-more kind of girl who is learning to embrace her inner minimalist (or at least not kill her off!) So, while I left boxes and boxes of ornaments unopened, I had to crack out the Liberace Santa (in gold glitter, below), and the vintage elves, sprites, and Santas:

My childhood little red schoolhouse bank and vintage Christmas packaging adorn the mantel. Yes, that's Buddha on the hearth.

All photos mine

Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories  and love of kindred,
and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit,
become a child again at Christmas-time.

Me too, Karey, and when we "neutralized" the house to put it on the market, we just couldn't bring ourselves to paint over it!
