a little candy now and then

I'm pretty sure winter isn't going to happen this year, so I'm ready for spring, and candy colors.

What about you? How's the weather in your world?

All I really need is love,
but a little candy now and then doesn't hurt!

on a fine day

I was scraping frost from my windshield last week, but tomorrow it's to be 90 degrees. It's time to start living outdoors again. Let's get inspired, shall we?

See the hanging bed in the background of this picture, above? I want one! More on that later...

To sit in the shade on a fine day
 and look upon verdure
is the most perfect refreshment.

cleaving the murk

I heard the peepers last night when I took the dogs out. The daffodils have sent up shoots, and the air, while still cold, is cold-tinged-with-warm, instead of warm-tinged-with-cold.

I don't care what the calendar, the almanac, or the weathermen say...Spring is here.

One swallow does not make a summer,
but one skein of geese,
cleaving the murk of March thaw,
is the Spring.

Fling off thy sadness!

Spring is coming...

I feel it in the soft air, see it in the tiny greening buds, hear it in the raucous calls of returning geese as they lumber across the sky...

I'm ready.

Awake, thou wintry earth -
Fling off thy sadness!
Fair vernal flowers, laugh forth
Your ancient gladness!
