good sleep, a bath, and a glass of wine...

A well-appointed bath must have the following: a comfortable tub for reclining, deep enough for submersion but not too deep; natural light, preferably a window with a view; places for books, and cups of tea close at hand; temperature control, and plenty of hot water; hooks for robes; thick, fluffy towels, and cakes of fragrant soap. All this, and nice to look at. Who wants to soak in a room they can't stand the sight of?
