fast away the old year passes

The very minute Christmas is over it feels like it's been over forever. The door is swinging closed on the old year and opening on the new.

I'm not one to make resolutions, per se, but January 1 is a nice clear delineation between what was and what will be. It's a good time to start things, or finish them. At the very least it's a good time to take stock, and make plans.

In the coming year -

I will move - and be moved - more often.

I will eat more healthy food, real food.

I will grow out my hair long enough to twist up into a messy knot. I will enjoy said knot, and not feel the need to tuck in all the loose ends. This is a metaphor for other areas of my life as well.

I will have more fun with my clothes.

I will sit by the fire, warming my toes, and read more.

I will spend more time in the garden, and in the woods.

I will lie on my back and watch the clouds drift by overhead.

I will embrace the light.

It's going to be a very good year! What are you going to do with it?

fast away the old year passes,

hail the new, ye lads and lasses,
fa la la la la, la la la la

The photo of the auburn haired lass could be Angel or you, or me during certain periods of my life.

Thought provoking, inspirational list.......

2010 will be great!
