find comfort somewhere

This can't be happening.

In my mind's eye, all the furniture is in place, pictures are hung, the coffee is brewing, and we're standing silent on the porch, watching deer step on long legs through our woods.

In reality, they're not our woods - and now? They never will be.

13 days away from handing over the keys to our home to a young couple who consider it theirs, and we have no place to go, because the seller of River House has changed her mind, and there's nothing we can do about it. Just like that, with 13 days to closing, we've got to put those dreams aside, and find a new home.

If ever there were a time for rose-colored glasses, this is surely it.

There will be little rubs and disappointments everywhere, and we are all apt to expect too much; but then, if one scheme of happiness fails, human nature turns to another; if the first calculation is wrong, we make a second better: we find comfort somewhere. ~ Jane Austen

OH, that is so disappointing and it must be very hard to get your River House out of the mind!
I´m sure you will find an even better spot soon!

Dang. I'm sorry. I was excited for you, but maybe there's something better out there waiting for you. You'll find it.
