the thread that binds them is my own

My sister bought this Antique Eastlake Rocker online:

It's in Indianapolis, about 1 1/2 hours from my house, and about 10 1/2 hours from hers. They won't ship it, so I (being the wonderful sister that I am) am driving to Indi tomorrow to pick up the chair and bring it back with me. From here she'll figure out how to get it home...

I figured that while I'm in Indi I may as well hit a few thrifts and fleas - it would surely be a waste of opportunity not to, don't you think? My daughter is going with me. We're giddy with anticipation.

I actually prefer secondhand stuff. Between craigslist, eBay, thrift stores, flea markets, and antique malls, virtually anything you could want or need is available out there, having lived at least one previous life, and now ready and waiting for a new one.

Look at these rooms from Flea Market Style, by Emily Chalmers:

Re-imagining, re-purposing, re-using, re-styling, re-mixing, re-making, re-loving...I'm ready!

I have gathered a posie of other men's flowers,
and nothing but the thread that binds them is my own.

Oh that's awesome. Love the rocker, quite a find. And love all those photos. There really is nothing like the character and creativity found in reused, repurposed, thriftstore and vintage decorating.
