see what happens

How do you catch a unique rabbit?
Unique up on it.

How do you catch a tame rabbit?
Tame way!

I have a confession to make:

I am afraid of rabbits. Yes, really. Cute, fluffy, sweet-looking, innocent, prey-not-predator, yeah yeah yeah whatever.

Rabbits are unpredictable with those back legs and their tendency to hop and flop without warning. They have big bitey-looking teeth.

AND?

They growl. Yes, really.

Still, I do like the look of them. I just don't want to hold a live one. Check out these Easter buns:

"Let's pretend it isn't," said Rabbit, "and see what happens."

follow the changes

I've got all these things I want to say, except I don't really want to say them, because sometimes it's too much, too much for words, too much to reveal.

Instead I hopped over to Jenny's for a jolt of FEEL BETTER GOD DAMN IT, and that's exactly what I got plus an eyeful of gorgeous, so instead of all the things I can't/won't say, here's this:

All by artist Michelle Armasand so luscious I could just swim in them, float through those colors, wrap myself up in that light.

Do you have a favorite?

Colors, like features,
follow the changes of the emotions.

strive to mend

I've always had a fondness for mended things, a thing so loved, or needed, or both, that when it broke or wore out, the thought of tossing it aside was never truly considered, and instead, repairs were made, carefully or clumsily, but enough to keep the thing intact.

We - most of us - don't live that way any more. When a thing breaks or shows signs of wear or bores us, we replace it. This practice is to our own detriment, I think. We're always and forever starting over with something new, and forgetting to cherish the treasures we have.

I'll not willingly offend,
Nor be easily offended;
What's amiss I'll strive to mend,
And endure what can't be mended.
~ Isaac Watts  (1674-1748)

upon the idle seashore

The poison: this day - gray, cold, wet, rainy, Monday.

The antidote: these colors - saturated, bright, alive, happy.

Sit in reverie, and watch the changing color of the waves
that break upon the idle seashore of the mind.
